With the increasing competition in the mid-sized sedan segment, Hyundai India is gearing up for the launch of new generation Verna sedan in India. Expected to hit Indian market by August this year, the South Korean automaker seems to have started testing the sedan. Confirming the same are the spy shots which have emerged online clearly revealing heavily camouflaged Verna sedan while testing on Indian roads. Previously, we also reported that the company could introduce the sedan in August based on the leaked presentation online. As Honda Cars India introduced the updated City in India, Hyundai India is also looking to regain its position in the market with the launch the new Hyundai Verna sedan 2017. Going by the spy shots, the testing mules were accompanied by its rival – City sedan which was probably employed as benchmark vehicle. As per the report from TeamBHP, one of the test mules was towed by Honda City, as it was damaged at the front. As seen in the spy shots, the mules have been heavily camouflaged at the front as well as at the rear. Based on Hyundai’s popular Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, the next generation Verna will sport wider & cascading grille, swept-back headlamps with projector unit at the front. While, the side profile of the sedan exhibits a sloping roof line along with new pair of 5-spoke alloy wheels that proffers the sedan with a uniform look. The rear end gets a sleek look with bigger wrap-around taillights and number plate housing has been shifted to the centre of the boot lid.
