New Hyundai Verna 2017 India launch likely in August

The new 2017 Hyundai Verna is reported to be launched in India in August 2017.

Late last year, Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor Company launched the next-generation Hyundai Verna 2017 in China. The company has now started launching the car in various other international markets while we still await the launch of the car in India. Now a new report from Autocar India suggests that the new 2017 Hyundai Verna facelift will be launched in India in August 2017. The new Verna will be manufactured locally at the company’s facility near Chennai. Also, the Indian facility will act as one of the hub to export the car to some of the international markets. The new Hyundai Verna 2017 facelift is based on the company’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy. The new car gets the chrome-lined cascading grille, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, round fog lamps and new front bumper. On the sides, the car gets a more coupe like design along with new 16-inch alloy wheels while the rear gets split LED taillights, boot integrated spoiler and revised rear bumper design. Dimensionally, the 2017 Hyundai Verna measures at 4,385 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height while the car gets a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The new car is 15 mm longer and 29 mm wider while the wheelbase is 10 mm longer as compared to the previous generation model. In India, the new Hyundai Verna will be available in two petrol and two diesel engine options. The car gets 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol that develop 106 BHP/135 Nm and 121 BHP/155 Nm of power respectively. On the other hand, the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines produce 89BHP/220 Nm and 126 BHP/259 Nm of power respectively. Transmission options include 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual on the petrol and diesel variants, while a 4-speed automatic is available as an option on both the engine options. On the features front, the car gets features like 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, reverse parking camera, push button start, Traction Control system and Vehicle Stability Management.
