Srinagar, May 21 (ANI): Houseboat owners at Dal Lake are happy on government’s preservation policy. Houseboats are considered as a major attraction of world famous Dal Lake. These houseboats attract thousands of visitors from around the globe. In recent years the houseboats were damaged due to floods, fire and other incidents which resulted decreasing of these beautiful boats. Presently only nine hundred twenty eight house boats are available in Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake. Considering the importance of the houseboats, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha announced a new policy aimed to preserve the houseboats which has given smile on the faces of houseboat owners.
