Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has finally launched its first BS6-compliant two-wheeler, the new Activa 125 BS6. With an introductory price of Rs 67,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Honda Activa 125 BS6 will rival against Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Suzuki Access 125.
Honda Activa 125 BS6, which was showcased in India on June 12, is the maiden scooter in the country to feature a BS6-compliant engine. Having been developed with as many as 26 new patent applications, Honda Activa 125 BS6 comes with a BS6-compliant 124 cc PGM-FI (Programmed-Fuel Injection) powertrain. The eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) aided engine makes 8.29 hp and 10.3 Nm of torque. The new motor has resulted in the mileage of Activa 125 going up by 13 per cent.
The 2019 Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets a 124.6 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder OHC engine that makes 8.7 bhp and 10.2 Nm of torque. In the FI version, the power output is slightly higher at 9.1 bhp. Powering Suzuki Access 125 is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 124 cc engine that makes 8.7 PS and 10.2 Nm of torque. It does not have an FI variant as of now.

Honda Activa 125 BS6 gets a new digital analogue meter displaying information about range, average fuel efficiency and real-time fuel efficiency. It also shows details regarding total trip, clock, ECO indicator and service due indicator. The new side stand indicator with engine inhibitor feature does not let the motor start while the side stand is engaged. Other features include chrome-finished front and side panels, LED headlamp, LED position lamp, 5-in-1 lock with dual function switch, idling stop system, external fuel fill, pass switch and new front glove box.
The new Honda Activa 125 BS6 is available in Standard, Alloy and Deluxe variants, while the colour options include Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic and Heavy Gray Metallic.
