Home Minister Amit Shah chairs a review meeting of vaccine drive amid the rise in number of cases

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing a meet on the COVID vaccine drive. The meeting comes at the backdrop of the surge reported in the number of COVID cases from at least four states in the country. Maharashtra, however, continues to remain the worst affected. The Central government has sent out letters to all the four COVID hit states, which includes Kerala, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh as well. Maharashtra government jumped to action and took stock of the situation and imposed weekend lockdowns in the worst affected areas as well. Apart from Home Minister Shah, other important authorities are also present in the meeting, including the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan and the doctors from ICMR.
