Washington, Apr 30 (PTI) Hollywood stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Fonda and Kerry Washington among others came out to support the Climate March protest and urged masses to do their bit to save the environment.
People turned out in huge numbers after the Environmental Protection Agency announced that its longstanding climate change website would be taken down and placed “under review”, reported Deadline.
The march was joined by many socially-inclined Hollywood voices, who expressed their views on social media.
DiCaprio, who is a climate change activist, took to Twitter where the actor said the Climate March has “inspired” him to hope for a better future.
“Today’s #ClimateMarch leaves me inspired and hopeful for our future. We must continue to work together and fight for #ClimateJustice,” he wrote.
Fonda said, “We march for many reasons – but we march together. #climatemarch”
“Sending love and prayers and so much gratitude to all you folks at the #climatemarch #wematter,” wrote Washington.
While “Suicide Squad” actor Jared Leto tweeted, “It’s time to change climate change. Join the #PeoplesClimate March today #ClimateMarch.”
“The Avengers” actor Mark Ruffalo lauded the people for being present at the protest and extolled them to rebuild the planet.

While actress Alyssa Milano shared a black-and-white picture of a forest and quoted Ansel Adams by writing, “It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment.”
