Hollyoaks has announced that viewers will be seeing much more of Tom Cunningham's friend Ripley Lennox, with Ki Griffin joining the cast.
Non-binary actor Griffin made their first appearance last month, as Ripley was seen running a second-hand clothes shop at the Cunningham's Grand Bazaar.
Tom (Ellis Hollins) and Yasmine Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) paid a visit, and Ripley tries to help Yasmine out after noticing she isn't a fan of a jacket that Tom picked out.
The Channel 4 soap confirmed that in addition to Tom and Yasmine, Ripley will befriend many of the younger characters such as Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell) and Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner).
Hollyoaks is off-air right now, following disruption to filming amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, classic episodes are being broadcast as part of Hollyoaks@25, celebrating the show's 25 years on TV.
This week's Hollyoaks@25 episodes will revisit Becca and Justin's teacher-student affair. Viewers will be able to revisit the moment when the village finds out about the couple's affair, as a pregnant Becca struggles with the uncertainty of who the father of her baby is.
The show is planning to return to screens in September, ahead of the 25th anniversary in October. Filming has resumed with new distancing regulations in place.
"We're all working really hard to make sure that we get the best episodes out for the Hollyoaks 25th anniversary," star Niamh Blackshaw recently shared on Instagram.
Hollyoaks@25 airs first-look episodes at 7pm on E4, with Channel 4 airing Monday through Fridays at 6.30pm.
