Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh, in his speech announced that Mumbai Police have been investigating the TRP case, but after a recent case was filed in Uttar Pradesh, the government feared that this case too shall be passed onto the CBI. He further stated that Mumbai Police’s competency cannot be undermined and that Mumbai Police has handled a variety of high profile cases in the past.
