Health Ministry's press briefing on COVID crisis in India; death toll sees a surge

The health ministry officials held a press briefing today amidst the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases. India has been recording over 3L fresh cases for the ninth consecutive day. During the briefing, it is also stated that the surge that is now being witnessed was first witnessed in February in states like Kerala, Punjab, Maharashtra. The briefing comes after PM Modi held a review meeting with the council of ministers earlier in the day today to assess the COVID crisis in several states.
