Health Ministry issues warning, says 'pollution may cause loss of life expectancy by 1.7 years'

Health Ministry has informed the parliament committee on urban development that pollution in India is causing the loss of life expectancy by 1.7 years. It also stated that COVID-19 cases may increase due to pollution as a virus can spread faster and stay longer. In order to prevent pollution from deteriorating, the principal secretary in the PMO will directly monitor the pollution problem.
