The Home Ministry on Wednesday had issued a freshorder cancelling the Indian citizenship of Chennamaneni forconcealing facts pertaining to his visits to India during the12-month period immediately preceding his application seekingcitizenship.
In its order, the ministry said the competentauthority has considered various aspects such as his MLA postand his background.
'His misrepresentation/concealment of fact misled thegovernment of India in making its decision initially.
Had he revealed the fact that he had not resided inIndia for one year before making the application, thecompetent authority in this ministry would not have grantedcitizenship to him,' the ministry order added.
