The Hathras Police have now taken cognisance against the Congress Party's hatemonger and have booked Congress' Shiyoraj Jeevan under sedition charges. The Congress leader was caught on camera indulging in hate-mongering and trying to incite people from a particular caste in Hathras.
However, Congress Neta has denied all allegations against him. He said, 'I am not a rioter. My whole life I have worked to promote communal harmony. I have been in people's service for the last 40 years and not a single FIR has been filed against me.'
When questioned about the statements that he made earlier; he said, 'I will not speak on the matter. I will give my statement before the Inspector. The police have summoned me based on the charges. I believe in India's constitution that's why I have come here to give my statement.'
On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state won't spare any conspirators.
