Uttar Pradesh Police have alleged that the funding of close to 50 crores was used by Popular Front of India (PFI) and it was all sourced from Mauritius, Country in East Africa, to incite casteist violence in Hathras.
On Monday (5th October 2020), four persons who were on their way to Hathras from Delhi were apprehended from Mathura. They were found to have links with PFI, UP Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said. The four have now been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and for sedition. They have been remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
