Haryana’s sports minister Anil Vij on Saturday claimed that Sakshi Malik was given Rs 2.5 crore and a job, after the wrestler alleged that she was yet to receive the rewards promised to her by the state government for winning a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
He claimed that a post was created for her after she asked for a job in MD University.

One day after that, Sakshi Malik tweeted that she was thankful to the Haryana government for the monetary appreciation. However, Malik said that the rest of the promises were yet to be fulfilled.
On Saturday. Sakshi had hit out at Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel, Vijay and stated Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar earlier on Saturday. “I fulfilled my promise of winning a medal, when will the Haryana government fulfil their promise?” tweeted the wrestler.
Interestingly, Vij was part of the nine-member contingent the Haryana government sent to Rio to support the athletes from the state. The trip that cost the state a massive Rs 1 crore was widely criticised by the tax payers back home.
