Haryana Folk Singer Murder Case: Harshita Dahiya Killed on Orders of Brother-in-Law, Says Police
New Delhi, Oct 20: Haryana folk singer Harshita Dahiya was killed on the orders of her brother-in-law, said Panipat police on Friday. The 22-year-old folk singer was shot multiple times on Tuesday. Rahul Sharma, a senior police officer, was quoted by PTI saying,” Dahiya’s brother-in-law- Dinesh Karala a famous gangster by profession, revealed about the conspiracy to the cops.
For the questioning, Karala was brought from a prison in Haryana. Dahiya had accused Karala of raping her in 2014. Also, she had accused him of killing her mother. Lata, the sister of Dahiya and wife of Dinesh told police that her husband was behind the murder.
In Haryana, Karala has been famous for his crimes and 12 cases have been registered against him in various police stations of the state. Also, he has cases against him registered in the police stations of the national capital.
Besides revealing about the conspiracy before the cops, Karala has also taken names of the people involved in the murder of Dahiya and the police teams have stepped out to nab the culprits.
On Tuesday, Harshita was shot in the head in Panipat and died on the spot. The folk singer was heading to Delhi after conducting a show close to a village in Panipat.
Few days before her death, she had posted a video on social media alleging death threats. In the video, she had stated,” Do what you want to, not afraid of death.” The young singer had not apprised the cops of the threats she had received.
