Harambee Stars defender Duncan Otieno calls for patience

The Ingwe skipper opted to take a plane to India with the rest of Harambee Stars squad at the expense of the club

Harambee Stars defender Duncan Otieno is urging Kenyan fans to have a little patience with the newly appointed national team head coach Sebastien Migne as the Frenchman prepares to begin his reign with the Stars.

Otieno, who is among the players summoned by Migne ahead of the two international friendly matches against Swaziland, on Friday and Equatorial Guinea three days later, said that the national team will start posting positive results, but only if Migne is given ample time to do his job.

“Of course we have a new coach and expectations are high in terms of the progress of Kenyan football but we are now building a team under a new coach and we need to be patient. AM very positive we are going to have good results from the way we are training.

Otieno colleague and teammate at AFC Leopards, Whyvonne Isuza in the meantime appealed to fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer the national team at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Migne signed a three-year deal after taking over from Paul Put and the tactician will have a first competitive match when Kenya hosts Ghana in the Afcon Qualifiers in September.
