2007: Om Shanti Om and Saawariya- These two were Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor- Sonam Kapoor’s debut films respectively. The films were in high buzz with Farah Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious films. While OSO managed to gain Rs 78 crore, Saawariya garnered only Rs 20 crore.
2008: Golmaal Returns and Fashion- Both the films were in the to-go list of the audience because of the amazing concepts. Golmaal naturally was going to win because of the success of its earlier instalment. Priyanka Chopra- Kangana Ranaut starrer Fashion, however, won hearts and critics and also got National Awards for PeeCee and Kangana. Golmaal Returns collected Rs 51 crore and Fashion raked in Rs 26 crore.
2012: Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son of Sardaar- The clash was between Shah Rukh Khan- Katrina Kaif- Anushka Sharma starrer and Ajay Devgn starrer film. Also, JTHJ was late Yash Chopra’s last film declared and it got thumbs up from the audience at large. On the other hand, Ajay and Sonakshi’s light comedy received lukewarm response. Jab Tak Hai Jaan minted Rs 101 crore and SOS collected Rs 88 crores.
2010: Golmaal 3 and Action Replayy- Ajay Devgn- Rohit Shetty’s popular franchise came up with its third installment and the fans pounced upon it like never before. On the other hand, it was Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s reunion film opposite Golmaal 3. However, despite the love the dup got for Khakee, even Action Replayy’s ‘Zor ka Jhatka’ could not save the film. Golmaal 3 gained Rs 108 crores where as Action Replayy minted only Rs 28 crores.
2016: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay- Both the films were in high buzz, thanks to the controversy between Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn. The competition between both the films was high but Ranbir Kapoor’s flawless performance plus Pritam’s outstanding music for ADHM won all the hearts instantly. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil garnered Rs 101 crore and Shivaay minted Rs 85 crore.
