Half Girlfriend: 3 things to expect from the Arjun Kapoor - Shraddha Kapoor's film

Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend is all set to release in theatres on 19 May, 2017. And the first trailer of the film, based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name, will be released on April 10. But before that, we got to see the second poster of the film that was made public today. While it doesn’t reveal much about the film, there are subtle hints as to what we can expect from this love story.

The poster is adapted from the novel’s cover and while the cover only had silhouettes, the film’s poster stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor and the expressions on their faces, if you look closely, reveals quite a bit. The motion poster has a gloomy feel to it and while no dialogue is said here, you are still left feeling a series of emotions! The film is directed by Mohit Suri, who has given us love stories like Woh Lamhe, Aawarapan, Aashiqui 2 and the more recent – Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Hamari Adhuri Kahaani. Here’s what we are expecting from the Arjun Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor film – Half Girlfriend.

Rain and romance

The motion poster of Half Girlfriend, with Delhi as the backdrop, sees the lead stars parting ways while the heavens pour down. Yes, rains are romantic and yet, they are gloomy – all depending on how near or far you are to your loved one. The poster promises you enough moments to make you pine for your love, and the romance added by the rain will only add to all the yearning. Tear-jerker

Yes, be sure to carry tissues along and dear ladies, try skipping your eye makeup for a day! The film’s story is based on the novel penned by Chetan Bhagat and going by the love life of the characters in the novel, there will be tear jerking moments a plenty. The story is that of love and loss – where one person wants to take the relationship to the next level, while facing rejections from the other. It can be heartbreaking to see an almost perfect love story and two people who look made for each other, not be able to come together for whatever reasons! Lessons in letting go

What do you do when the love of your life doesn’t want to settle for you? How do you handle someone’s commitment phobia? Do you move on or keep living in the past? What do you do when fate brings you face to face with the person years later? Are you able to go about your life normally without letting your heart wish for the impossible? In the poster, Shraddha Kapoor is seen walking away from Arjun Kapoor. While she looks guilt free, he looks disheartened and at the same time he let’s go. Half Girlfriend might just provide us all with some strong lessons in how to move on in life.

The film will see the first time pairing of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor and fans are waiting to see if their chemistry is as magical as that of Arjun and Alia Bhatt from Two States, which was also a movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name.
