As soon as normalcy restored in Jammu and the city woke up to the familiar sight of young children racing to school. Holding Tricolour in their hands, the Gurjar community today celebrated abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Dancing on a patriotic song holding Indian national flag, the community celebrated Centre�s decision with patriotic zeal. Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Gurjar community said that they are celebrating their independence after 70-long years. On August 05, confusion of beefing up of the security in Jammu and Kashmir has been cleared as Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced in the Parliament to repeal Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to the state. Uproar erupted by the Opposition parties in both the houses as soon as the Home Minister announced the proposal. Shah also put forth a statement informing that Ladakh will now be given the status of Union Territory, while Jammu and Kashmir will be a separate Union Territory. Since last week, heavy security forces have been deployed in Jammu and Kashmir. Now citing Eid-ul-Adah and the mood of the people, Centre is giving leniency in Jammu. Schools, offices and markets are opened as normalcy is coming back in Jammu.
