Gupkar Alliance demands restoration of statehood before J&K Assembly poll

Srinagar (J&K), July 05 (ANI): The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on July 05 stated that the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir must be held only after the restoration of full statehood. PAGD spokesperson MY Tarigami reacted on Prime Minister Modi’s all-party meeting with J&K leaders. He said, “The PM listened to us but outcome of our deliberations is disappointing. So many restrictions on J&K are unacceptable to us. We also said that BJP had made promises to restore statehood of J-K that has not been done so far. If Assembly election is on the agenda of the government, they should make this process credible. For that, the government should implement the promise it made in the Parliament to restore the statehood of J&K.”
