An inspiration for entrepreneurs and people everywhere, this 62-year-old woman, who hails from the Nagana district of Banaskantha, Gujarat, started a small milk revolution in her village’s district. According to sources, she has crossed a record of making milk sales of approximately 87.95 lakhs worth of milk, with a profit of roughly 3.5 lakhs per month.
Navalben is a simple village woman with no educational background, but she turned out to be a star businesswoman and inspiration to so many around her. She is a true entrepreneur who realised a basic need that people had to provide milk and set out to find a solution by providing people with an ongoing dairy supply.
How did she start this business?
As early as last year, Navalben began a small milk company from the confines of her home. Strapped for resources, she built up a small farm where she houses about 80 buffaloes and 45 cows, which supply milk to nearby homes and have become the staple dairy go-to for many villages in her vicinity.

Entrepreneur and Lone Cow
Navalben has 4 sons; however, they do not work with her. In fact, she says that her sons earn much less than her. Her sons are studying and working in cities. Navalben started the business independently by understanding the simple need to provide milk to nearby people and villages.
She has now employed around 15 people who are working for her. In 2019, she said she was the first woman in the Banaskantha district to sell milk and earn a gross net of INR 88 lakhs. Subsequently, in 2020 she became the number one dairy provider in the district, selling milk amounting to almost 1 crore, 10 lakhs.
Navalben starts her day by milking her cows every morning and is a true woman of business. She aims to become one of the largest dairy providers in not just her own district, but also to start distributing milk to nearby districts.
