Gujarat reports 32 new COVID-19 cases, one death, 262 recoveries

Ahmedabad, Jul 12 (PTI) Gujarat reported 32 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the COVID-19 tally to 8,24,274, while 262 patients recovered from the infection, the state health department said.

Only one patient died in the last 24 hours - in Anand district - taking the state's total COVID-19 fatalities to 10,074, it said.

The number of recovered cases rose to 8,13,399 with 262 patients getting discharged during the day, the department said.

As many as 18 out of the state's 33 districts reported zero COVID-19 cases on Monday, while the rest of the districts reported new cases in single digits.

Ahmedabad district reported nine new cases, Surat four, Vadodara three and Bhavnagar, Kutch and Rajkot, two cases each.

There are now 801 active cases in Gujarat, where seven patients are in a critical condition, said the department.

As many as 2,54,759 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday, taking the total number of doses administered so far in the state to 2,81,15,181, it said.

The Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu reported two new cases and six recoveries, officials said.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the UT rose to 10,560 and the recovered cases to 10,535. There are 21 active cases in the UT where four coronavirus patients have died so far, the officials said.
