Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Gujarat's Narmada district on May 1.
He will visit the tribal village of Dediapada and address a rally there, according to sources.
The rally will be part of the party's ongoing 'Adivasi Adhikar Abhiyan'.
The other campaign that the party is running in Gujarat is the one backing fishermen.
WOOING FISHERMEN, TRIBALS PART OF CONGRESS' CAMPAIGN
According to sources, the two campaigns are expected to boost the party's chances of a good show in assembly polls.
"Ashok Gehlot, general secretary in-charge of Gujarat, met Rahul Gandhi to discuss the election campaign plan. Rahul has now agreed to address the rally on May 1. He will discuss the issues being faced by the tribals there," said a senior party leader from Gujarat.
Another reason why the Gujarat Congress unit wanted Rahul to address the rally on May 1 is because it is Gujarat Day too.
