Gujarat: COVID vaccination drive suspended for 2 days due to heavy rains in wake of Cyclone Tauktae

In the wake of Cyclone Tauktae, the COVID vaccine drive has been suspended in the state of Gujarat for two days, i.e., on May 17 and 18 keeping the state’s vaccination drive on hold till May 19. The cyclonic storm deems to take over the East-central Arabian Sea and is expected to intensify further in the next 24 hours and move North-Northwestwards to reach the Gujarat coast today evening. It is forecasted that the storm will cross the coast between Porbandar and Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) in the early morning hours on May 18. The fear now lies in whether the storm will affect the state's electricity which can be a problem for COVID hospitals. Watch!
