Ahmedabad, Dec 7: The first phase election campaigns in the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 will come to an end today (December 7). Voting for Gujarat assembly elections in the first phase will take place across 89 constituencies in 19 districts. The pre-poll estimation says that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chances to win the elections but may fall short of its ambitious 150-seat mark in the 182-member House.
An opinion survey, conducted by Times Now-VMR, has predicted an easy win for the Narendra-Modi-led party and a 68-seat win for the Congress, backed by Hardik Patel, in the Gujarat polls 2017. A total of 89 seats, out of a total of 182, will go to polls on December 9. A total of 977 candidates are in the fray, including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
