Gujarat Assembly Election 2017: Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray praises Rahul Gandhi, lashes out at BJP
Uddhav Thackeray praised Congress' President Rahul Gandhi and said that the country has witnessed the rise of a new Rahul Gandhi.
Shivsena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, in an editorial written in party mouthpiece Saamana, wished Congress' President Rahul Gandhi. Taking pot shots at BJP, Thackeray said that the ruling party should talk about the problems before the nation than Rahul Gandhi.
He also said that whatever the results of Gujarat polls are, the country has witnessed the rise of a new Rahul Gandhi.
Uddhav Thackeray also said that the ones who believe that nothing has happened in last few years could be fools of top order (Moorkh shiromani).
Uddhav Thackeray said that there is no harm in wishing Rahul Gandhi.
Thackeray said, "Rahul has taken over charge of the congress party. But, it would be wrong to say that Rahul era has begun in the country. But yes, it has indeed started in Congress."
Thackeray also talked about how RaGa's a new hope for Congress. He said, "Congress is going through its worst phase and destiny has entrusted the responsibility on Rahul's shoulders to infuse a new lease of life into it."
Thackeray added that even though there are a lot of challenges in future, nobody should underestimate Rahul Gandhi.
He talked about Congress' and Shivsena's ideologies and differences and said that if he's working for the nation, we should wish him luck instead of criticising him.
"There are bigger challenges before the nation than the ones faced by Rahul Gandhi. The ruling party should talk about the problems of the nation. Let Rahul decide what he wants to do with his party.
He added, "Whatever the results of Gujarat polls are, the country has witnessed the rise of a new Rahul Gandhi. At a time when many top leaders on Gujarat were worried about the defeat, Rahul was fighting out in the battlefield without caring for the outcome. This confidence will help him move forward as the president of congress party."
Thackeray added that there is a 'superstitious class' that do not believe in Rahul Gandhi at all.
"They also claim that there is no role played by Nehru, Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi in the progress of the country. Whatever benefits the political class is reaping today and the solid foundation on which the nation stands today is the contribution of their political predecessors. Forgetting that is lack of knowledge and ungratefulness."
Without taking any names, Thackeray said that no matter whatever happens we should not forget our political predecessors and always be grateful for them.
"People who feel that nothing happened in last 60 years and whatever happened, happened only in last three years are humans or "idiots of top order".
"They may also claim that the nation got freedom last year and that the freedom struggle of 150 years was false. We should be prepared for that as well." he added.
He said that there is no harm in wishing Rahul good luck as he has taken over Congress in quite a confused state of affairs.
