Guar gum futures rise on spot demand

New Delhi, Jan 6 (PTI) Guar gum prices on Wednesday gained Rs 11 to Rs 5,970 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for January delivery traded higher by 0.18 per cent, or Rs 11, to Rs 5,970 per five quintal with an open interest of 15,850 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to the rise in guar gum prices.

However, guar gum contracts for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 2, or 0.03 per cent, at Rs 6,031 per five quintal as open interest stood at 38,950 lots. PTI SRS RUJ RUJ
