Guar gum futures gain on spot demand

New Delhi, Mar 24 (PTI) Guar gum prices on Wednesday gained Rs 9 to Rs 5,910 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for April delivery traded higher 0.15 per cent, or Rs 9, to Rs 5,910 per five quintal with an open interest of 42,750 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices.

The contracts for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 1, or 0.02 per cent, at Rs 5,981 per five quintal as open interest stood at 12,805 lots. PTI SRS SHW SHW
