Govt taking major steps to upgrade higher education in state: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 15 (ANI): Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot, while virtually inaugurating college buildings in different districts said his government was working tirelessly to improve higher education in the state. Gehlot inaugurated 11 newly constructed college buildings at a cost of about 45 crores and laid the foundation stone of two college buildings costing about 12 crores 67 lakhs. He also announced opening 123 new colleges in the state. He said that English medium government schools would be opened in towns and villages with a population over 5,000. He also said that his government would establish a model that will allow students of government schools to compete with private school students.Underlining the importance of the girls’ education, Gehlot said his government had already announced in the budget to upgrade Government Girls Higher Secondary Schools to girl colleges in which more than 500 girl students are studying in class 12th.The step is aimed at improving girls’ enrolment rate in colleges and provide the necessary facilities at the same time.
