UP Govt imposes weekend lockdown and night curfews in districts over active 500 new COVID cases

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced statewide weekend lockdown and night curfew in all the districts with more than 500 active Covid-19 cases, effective between 8 PM to 7 AM every day, until further orders. The weekend lockdown will come into force from April 24. The decision comes moments after the Supreme Court stayed the Allahabad High Court order for a lockdown in the five worst-hit cities in UP. CM Yogi Adityanath has urged the citizens in the meeting to take these curfews seriously and also directed the officials to ensure strict compliance on the ground. Also for migrants, CM has also ordered proper travel arrangements across the state to all the states.
