Governor asks Core Group members to submit report to CS Itanagar, Nov 7 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig(Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Thursday asked the Core Group membersto submit their report to state Chief Secretary to expeditethe process of making Pangsau Pass Border haats in Changlangdistrict functional at the earliest.
The Core Group, constituted by the governor hadrecently visited the land customs station at Moreh in Manipurfor familiarization with the border trade system and practicesbeing followed there.
The Core Group led by the Assembly Deputy SpeakerTesam Pongte, MLAs Laisam Simai and Chou Zingnu Namchoombesides Trade and Commerce Director Tokong Pertin called onthe governor at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and apprised himregarding its findings and suggestions, an official releasesaid.
Mishra asked them to prepare a report, with duevetting by the state government and meet the Special SecretaryBorder Management in the Union Home Ministry to obtainnecessary sanctions and orders for the early operation of theborder trade point at Pangsau Pass.
'Pangsau Pass haats, when developed and organised willhave a positive impact on the rural economy of the area andits people,' the governor said.
He suggested that all formalities for Pangsau Passborder haats must be completed early so that the same could beopened by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in the august presenceExternal Affairs Minister, before the commencement of PangsauPass Festival in January next year. PTI UPLRG RG
