Good Newwz Trailer: Jokes Fall Flat in an Otherwise Quirky Comedy

The trailer for Dharma Productions upcoming comedy film Good Newwz just dropped and the three-minute clip promises a laugh riot. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.

Good Newwz is a light-hearted comedy that follows the lives of two married couples: Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor; Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Coincidentally, both couples go by the same surname i.e. Batra. They are both also struggling to conceive. Trouble begins when both the couples, following their IVF treatments, show up at a hospital and are informed about the logistical error that has led to Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh’s sperm being misplaced in the procedure.

On 14 November, Dharma Productions had shared posters of the film. The first poster showed Akshay between two pregnant women and the second one showed Diljit in the same position.

A third poster was shared. It revealed the entire cast of the film. It showed Kareena and Kiara as the two pregnant women, with ‘Good Newwz’ written with balloons. “This #Christmas, bring in the #GoodNewwz with the biggest goof-up of the year! In cinemas 27th December. Oh & trailer, you may ask? Well...stay tuned!” the caption read.

On 26 October, Akshay Kumar had shared a first look of the song 'Lucky You, Lucky Me' from the film. The still featured the entire cast including Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh along with rapper Badshah.

Akshay shared the photo on Twitter, writing, “#GoodNewwz straight from me to you!! I give you this Legendary cast on the Dance Floor this Christmas ?Lucky You, LuckyMe”

Good Newwz is slated to release on 27 December. It reunites Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar on screen 10 years after Kambakkht Ishq. The family comedy is about two married couples who are trying to have a baby.
