On Sunday, the Goa government issued a new set of directives for the state's ongoing COVID-induced lockdown. Lockdown was also extended till July 12 by the government. The curfew, which was first imposed on May 9, has been periodically extended as the number of infections in the coastal state has increased. The previous extension had been extended to July 5. Social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, marital functions, and other gatherings shall be prohibited (save for events with fewer than 100 persons or 50% of the hall capacity, whichever is less). Cremation for groups of 20 or less persons will be approved without prior approval.
