The Gadchiroli District Court is set to announce verdict in the 2013 case against Delhi University professor GN Saibaba today.
An English professor in Ram Lal Anand College, Saibaba was arrested from his residence in 2013 for having links with CPI(Maoist).
He was nabbed after a JNU student Hemant Mishra in police custody said that he was acting as a courier between the professor and Maoists holed up in Abujmad forests in Chhattisgarh.
Mishra along with four others were arrested for waging war against the country and supporting the ideology of banned organisation CPI (Maoist).
While Saibaba managed to get bail on health grounds, three others are still behind the bars and today's order is likely to decide their fate.
Massive security has been deployed outside the court and the entire city has been put on high alert.
