In the latest development, another Supreme Court judge has recused from hearing a case related to the state of West Bengal, Lawbeat reported. The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, was to hear West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's appeal challenging the Calcutta High Court order refusing her and state Law Minister Moloy Ghatak to file affidavits on their role on 17 May when four Trinamool Congress leaders were arrested by the CBI in connection with the Narada sting tape case. A bench of Justices Hemant Gupta and Aniruddha Bose was formed to hear the separate appeals filed by the Chief Minister, Ghatak, and the West Bengal government.

The CBSE on Monday informed the Supreme Court that the optional examinations for Class 12 students, unsatisfied with its assessment criteria, would be held between August 15 to September 15. The CBSE in an additional affidavit said: "Regarding the date before which the optional examination for the candidates who are not satisfied with their assessment with the policy, the examinations for such candidates shall be conducted any time between 15 August to 15 September 2021, subject to conducive situation." The board added that the examinations for private, patrachar and compartment would be conducted in such a manner so that they will fall within the assessment policy for the academic year 2019-2020.
