Gorakhpur (UP), Aug 28 (PTI) Gorakhpur Sadar BJP MLA Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, who has been served a show-cause notice by the party, on Friday said he has full faith in the impartial behaviour of the party as internal democracy is still alive in it.
After receiving the notice issued by BJP vice-president JPS Rathore on the directions of Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh on Thursday for allegedly maligning the party's image on social media, Agarwal said, 'My life so far has been spent in the BJP and I will continue in the party all my life.' Disciplinary action is very important to strengthen the party and improve its image, he said, adding, 'It is a part of the internal democracy of our party, which is still alive.' 'I have got a notice from the party and will give a reply to it based on facts and I have 100 per cent faith in the impartial actions of our party,' the four-time MLA said.
He also wrote on social media: 'I am and will remain a BJP MLA and swayamsevak of the RSS.' The BJP, in the notice to Agarwal, said, 'Your posts on social media are maligning the image of the government and the party. Your act comes in the category of indiscipline. You should clarify on this.' The party also said the MLA's behaviour was against its 'policies and principles'.
Agarwal had raised the 'careless' attitude of a PWD assistant engineer in his constituency and met Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at the latter's Lucknow residence on Saturday.
The assistant engineer, KK Singh, was transferred from Gorakhpur and attached to the Lucknow office by Maurya. The MLA wrote about the issue on social media and also thanked the deputy chief minister.
But Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan and MLA Fatehbahadur Singh came out in support of the engineer, while Bansgaon BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan sided with Agarwal.
A few days earlier, Agarwal had written about alleged police carelessness in Lakhimpur Kheri, resulting in a relative of a BJP worker getting killed in celebratory firing by one Shanu Khan, on social media platforms. After his post, the police had arrested the accused. PTI CORR SAB RC
