Fukrey Returns Box Office Collection Day 3: Pulkit Samrat – Varun Sharma Starrer Booms; Bags Rs 37.30 Crore
After the success of Fukrey (2013), the makers have returned with a second installment, to taste more success, and that, it is doing. The story of Fukrey Returns continues right from where it left off. The story follows the chronicles of the four friends: Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh) and Zafar (Ali Fazal) who want to make easy money with Choocha’s future insights at the core of the plan. And the way it is going at the box office, their plan seems to be working.
With no other major release in sight, the film has been booming at the ticket windows. Fukrey Returns bagged over Rs 30 crore in its opening weekend, and as trade analyst Taran Adarsh suggests, the film is indeed having a dream run. After raking in Rs 8.10 crore, 11.30 crore, and 12.80 crore in its first weekend, the film entered its first weekday on a healthy note, bringing in Rs 5.10 crore on Monday, bringing the total to a whopping ₹ 37.30 crore. Currently, the only competition that the film has is that of the Kapil Sharma starrer Firangi that released on December 1. The film has not only exceeded everyone’s expectations, it has also surpassed the Box Office numbers of its prequel. Our in-house critic Smrity Sharma, who rated the film 3 stars, says, “That I don’t have to recommend the film to you just due to lack of Bollywood film options this week should tell you what you need to know about Fukrey Returns! While it would really add to your experience if you have watched Fukrey, but even if you haven’t, you can still go and enjoy a few laughs in this funnily mad entertainer. PS: Choose friends over the family for this one.”
