Former Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team on Thursday, 18 July.
Abbasi was arrested in connection to a multi-billion-rupee case related to the award of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract, Dawn reported.
He was arrested by a 12-member team while he was on his way to attend a press conference.
NAB had summoned the former premier in the LNG case on Thursday but he did not appear before the bureau.
The former prime minister is expected to be presented before an accountability court for physical remand on Friday and a medical team will conduct an examination.
