Former Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane's Ahmedabad visit sparks speculations about him joining BJP

Narayan Rane joined the Congress in 2005, but has not been happy ever since, speculations suggest that he would soon join the BJP.

Amidst talks of switching over to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Congress leader Narayan Rane's recent visit Ahmedabad has fueled more speculations. Fadnavis's close aide and Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal also met Narayan Rane in Sindhudurg.

According to sources, Narayan Rane met with BJP national president Amit Shah and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and the meeting lasted for an hour. However, both Rane and Fadnavis denied any such meeting.

Rane quit the Shiv Sena and joined the Congress in 2005, but didn't feel comfortable there. After repeatedly being denied the chief minister's post, Rane on several occasions had attacked party leadership both in the state as well as the Centre.
