Team Xtreme was one of the legendary tag teams. The Hardy Boyz was formed when Matt Hardy’s then-girlfriend Lita joined their ranks. They first began teaming together in 1993 on the independent circuit. They won the NWA 2000 Tag Team Championship in NWA. And then found OMEGA Championship Wrestling, where they held the OMEGA Tag Team Championship.

Matt and Jeff were already popular with fans for their matches against Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian. And the addition of Lita gave them a further boost. Both brothers left Impact in 2017 and returned to WWE. They would go on to win the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 33.

4. The Wyatt Family

The Wyatt Family debuted in 2013 and immediately caught the attention of the pro-wrestling world. If the Wyatt Family had backed Randy Orton from the get-go, there’s no doubt that where this group would be ranked right now.

The Wyatt Family comprises the leader Bray Wyatt leading his two men, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. All three of them looked promising talents and even delivered inside the ring. Braun Strowman eventually joined them, but he was more of a bodyguard than a member. Wyatt, Harper, and Rowan were almost unstoppable.

Arguably, the most popular trios team in the history of professional wrestling is The Shield. The Shield consisted of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins. They debuted in 2012 and created their own aura. The wrestling world immediately knew these three performers could be stars of the future.

They once had an undefeated streak lasting from December 2012 to May 2013. They destroyed big teams with the likes of Big Show, John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, The Wyatt Family, etc.

The best active trios team in WWE today. One of the best in the history of the industry is The New Day. When the trio’s group started, at the earlier stage fans didn’t catch on immediately to Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E, but when they got popular and started delivering good performances the trio’s group ended up rising to the top of WWE.

The New Day has been together for six years and counting and has held eight tag team titles, using the Freebird Rule. The New Day will forever be remembered as one of the quirkiest groups in wrestling history.

Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall came together and debuted in 1996 at World Championship Wrestling to form the New World Order (NWO). NWO started with Hogan turning heel for the first time and siding with Nash and Hall.

Their trademark black and white shirts took over WCW crowds. As they started the riot and painted the WCW Championship black with their initials after “Hollywood” Hogan captured it. And in December 2019, it was announced that the NWO would be inducted into the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame.
