The much awaited Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer 2.0 directed by Shankar is finally in theatres. The fan following that Rajinikanth has always ensures that there are early morning shows of all his films in Chennai from 4.30 am onwards. Some of the reactions to this mega-budget, VFX laden film have started to trickle in. From the initial reactions it looks like 2.0 comes with a social message and is definitely a one-time watch. However, it also seems as if the film may not live up to the expectations and hype that has been built up over the years.
Take a look at the early reactions to 2.0:

An early review on Galatta.com says:
“Director Shankar has once again proved that there is no limit for his imaginations as the film is filled with loads of innovative ideas. The presentation is rich, but the happenings do not appear to be as intended by the maker. He is crystal clear with his vision to deliver a social message with high-end technology, the producers have also fully supported him with finance, but the impact is flat due to mediocre writing.”
#2Point0 - Interval - Outstanding visuals, 3D effect & VFX work. There are a few mass Thalaivar moments & certain ideas of Shankar is commendable. But, beyond that, the enjoyment quotient is on a middling level. Direction & screenplay could have been better.— Review Ram (@MovieReviewRam) November 28, 2018
'Watchable' so far.
