A fire broke out at an operation theatre in the trauma centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi late on Sunday.
Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and all the patients were evacuated to safety.
"A medium category fire broke out at 6.12 pm at the basement of the AIIMS trauma centre where the operation theatre is located. The fire is completely under control now. There are no casualties. Patients on the ground and first floor were vacated due to the smoke," chief fire officer Atul Garg was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The fire department also said that oxygen leakage from a pipe is being fixed.
The hospital administration, meanwhile, has ordered an inquiry into the matter to identify the cause of the fire and to suggest measures for improvement.
