FIR registered against captain of Barge P305 over sea tragedy, 26 missing while 49 dead

Days after the Barge P305 sank in the Arabian Sea, the Mumbai police registered a case of negligence against the captain of the ship, who is missing. At least 49 bodies have been recovered and 29 people are still missing. The FIR has been filed on the basis of the complaint by a P305 engineer who accused the captain of the barge of allegedly ignoring the warnings related to Cyclone Tauktae. The Yellow Gate police have booked the captain under Sections 304(II) (an act done with the knowledge that it is likely to cause death), 338 (causing grievous hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
