Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declares health & well being as first pillar of budget

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reached the Parliament to attend the cabinet meeting ahead of the budget session. The first pillar that is in focus is on health and well being. The investment in health infrastructure in this budget has increased substantially. Taking a holistic approach to health, the government focuses on strengthening three key areas, which are preventive, curative, and well being. FM Sitharaman further states that PM Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana will be launched with an outlay of about 64,184 over six years and this will develop capacities of primary, secondary, and tertiary health care systems. This will be in addition to the National Health Mission, adds FM Sitharaman.
