Tamil Nadu is still reeling under its former chief minister J Jayalalithaa's demise. An unstable government, rebellion from all corners and more political parties mushrooming one after the other. This time it is Jaya's niece Deepa Jayakumar's husband, Madhavan, who has floated a political party.
Madhavan officially flagged off his party at the Jaya Samathi at Marina Beach earlier today. He and his wife had initially joined hands and started the MGR Amma Deepa Peravai, but due to differences between the two, Madhavan drifted off to form his own political party.
Last month, Madhavan revealed to the media that his wife was influenced by "evil forces" which is why he decided to start his own political outfit, but they two are very much happy with their personal life.
"This is just a ploy to create more confusion and will not be fruitful. He is influenced by certain people," said Deepa Jayakumar about her husband's new political outfit. However, party cadres maintained that the reason for Deepa and Madhavan to break off in their political ambition was because a certain group of people he was associated with were involved in anti-party activities and she was not too happy with it.
There has also been friction between the two parties as party cadres are also split in their loyalties between the husband wife duo.
