12 Feb 2021: FIFA Club World Cup: Bayern beat Tigres to become champions

Bayern Munich's quest for trophies continued as they beat Tigres 1-0 to win the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Notably, this is their sixth trophy in nine months.

Bayern have won the UEFA Super Cup, German Super Cup and are now world champions.

Last season, Bayern won the treble to round off a perfect start for Hansi Flick.

Here are the details.

Tourney: An European club wins the tourney on eighth successive occasion

Interestingly, this is the eighth year in a row that a European club has won the Club World Cup, including Liverpool last season.

Mexican outfit Tigres were the first team from North or Central America to reach the final but could not end the dominance of European and South American teams in the tournament.

Achievement: Bayern become second side to win six successive trophies

Bayern have become just the second team after Barcelona to hold all six trophies at the same time.

Earlier, Pep Guardiola's Barca had achieved the feat.

The current Manchester City manager lauded Bayern in a video post and said he was proud.

He congratulated the entire Bayern outfit and the staff for the amazing achievement.

Fact: Champions!
