Fed up of sexual exploitation, dreaded Maoist commanders surrender

The two Maoists have been identified as Deepak alias Mangru Suklu Begami (30) and Moti alias Radha Jhuru (28). Moti is Deepak's wife.
The couple said the reason for their surrender was because of the sexual exploitation of women at the hands of senior Maoist cadres.
Deepak became a Maoist in the Jagargunda Dalam in 2001 and was divisional commander of the dalam in Company 5 since 2012.
He was wanted in 17 encounters, 12 murders and three mine blast cases. The Maharashtra government had declared a reward of Rs 9.25 lakh for his capture.
Moti became a Maoist in 2004 in the Bhamragad Dalam and in 2017 was promoted to divisional commander of the North Bastar Company 10. She was wanted for 15 encounters with security forces and two murders. The Maharashtra government had declared a reward of Rs 9.25 lakh for her capture as well.
