New Delhi: In what can be called as the fastest decision ever, Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has accepted Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s proposal for a new railway line in the state within three minutes after the CM’s presented the proposal to him on Twitter.

Taking to the micro-blogging site at 10:05 PM last night, Odisha chief minister Patnaik proposed the new line between Puri and Konark and Prabhu responded positively to it in mere three minutes (10.08 PM). In his twitter post, Chief Minister Patnaik also offered to bear 50 per cent of the project’s total cost.


“CM  proposes state sharing 50 per cent of project cost for new rail line from Puri to Konark to boost tourism potential in Odisha,” read the tweet by CMO Odisha.

“CM @Naveen_Odisha urged upon Union Min @sureshpprabhu for early sanction of this project & signing an MoU for timely completion,” the tweet further reads.


Patnaik also said that with state’s contribution, the rate of return would be more than 20 per cent for the railways.
