Farm loan waiver issue rocked the Parliament on Wednesday as Opposition and a few allies of the ruling NDA regime demanded that relief be extended to farmers across the country.
Opposition parties, including the Congress and the Shiv Sena, demanded that the Centre come up with a nationwide policy to address the plight of farmers across the country.

- Several parties in the Opposition, led by the Congress, raised the matter in Parliament. Congress leader Renuka Chaudhary talked about the plight of distressed farmers in Rajya Sabha.
- Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said, "We will raise the farm loan issue in the House." He tweeted, "Congress supports loan waiver for farmers but this is only partial relief. The Centre must react promptly and ensure relief for farmers across the country."
- Demanding loan waiver for Maharashtra farmers, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, "Maharashtra govt should also waive off farmer loans. Maximum suicides by farmers are reported from Maharashtra. Yogi ji has set an example. Other states must follow that too."
- Meanwhile, Congress is also planning to intensify its agitation across the country. "Our vice-president has asked party leaders in states to raise farm loan waiver issue in various assemblies and to intensify the agitation in states and districts", UP Congress Committee chief Raj Babbar said.
