As Farmer protest continues to boil Punjab over the contentious Farmer Bills, the Shiromani Akali Dal has quit the ruling coalition at the Centre. This decision was taken to revolt against the Farm legislation push through parliament by the Modi Government. SAD was one of the oldest allied of BJP & NDA Government.
SAD’s Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal announced this decision in a press briefing. While addressing the media he stated, ‘because of the centre's stubborn refusal to give statutory legislative guarantees to protect assured marketing of farmers crops on MSP and its continued insensitivity to Punjabi and Sikh issues like excluding the Punjabi language as an official language in Jammu and Kashmir’.
